20 OCTOBER 2026

GBS 2026 Workshop – The Bioeconomy as a Bridge-Builder: Regional Networks Scaling Innovation into Impact

The SPRING Cluster will be one of the co-organizers of the workshop“The Bioeconomy as a Bridge-Builder: Regional Networks Scaling Innovation into Impact,”scheduled for October 20 in Dublin, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., as part of the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026.

The workshop will focus on the role of the bioeconomy in fostering connections between countries and regions, and on the contribution that regional networks and innovation ecosystems can make toward transforming innovations into concrete, scalable solutions.

The discussion will focus on some of the key challenges that still hinder the transition from innovation to large-scale implementation: access to funding, market development, policies and regulations, implementation at the local level, and the level of investment readiness.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity to highlight how international connections and collaboration among regional networks can foster the exchange of experiences, the creation of new synergies, and the dissemination of innovative solutions across different regional contexts.

The workshop is organized jointly by the SPRING Cluster, the International Center for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), and the Catalonia Bioeconomy Hub (BioHubCat)

To participate, you must register for GBS 2026 and select the workshop.
