On November 13th and 14th, Bodegas Campo Viejo (Logroño, La Rioja) hosted the Consortium Meeting of the European project COPILOT, “Co-creating the next generation platform of PILOT and demo infrastructures, unlocking faster innovation and EU bioeconomy growth”, coordinated by Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP) and which sees the participation of the SPRING Cluster as Task Leader.
November 14th was the second day of work for the consortium, but also an opportunity to meet with the regional authorities and participate in the round table “Sustainability and Market opportunities in Europe – Collaboration and Innovation to Scale the Future” at the conclusion of the TRANSFOODMATION 2024 event, organized by the Food+i Cluster, SPRING partner in the COPILOT project, which is actively working through various projects to the themes of circular bioeconomy.
In fact, the Province of La Rioja has a Circular Economy Strategy 2030, which highlights the region’s commitment to shift to a more sustainable production model, with a focus on responsible resource consumption and waste reduction. The city of Logroño is also home to TheCircularLab, a pioneering and first laboratory in Europe dedicated to research and innovation for waste management and recycling.
