Biomodel4regions

The project Biomodel4regions – Supporting the establishment of the innovative governance models to achieve betterinformed decision-making processes, social engagement and innovation in the bio-based economy is an EU-supported Horizon Europe project coordinated by Ciaotech srl – PNO consultants with the presence of 14 partners. The project aims to support the creation of innovative governance models at the regional level to foster sustainable development and the bio-based economy in the region.

The objectives of the project are:

  • Define options for a supportive governance structure and related capabilities for regional authorities;
  • Support for local economic and implementing authorities, including at the bioeconomy cluster level, to improve the engagement of regional and local actors;
  • Analysis of regional policy mix related to bio-based economy to understand potential, bottlenecks and opportunities, capacities for raw materials, infrastructure, investment, human skills, innovation actors;
  • Analysis, development and updating of business models to enable consumers, SMEs, producers, regional and local authorities to shift to socially and environmentally responsible behavior;
  • Development of best practice guidelines for local operators and innovation developers, supporting climate neutrality and improving the environmental footprint of bio-based products and services;
  • Integration of opportunities created by the local bioeconomy within a broader bioeconomy transition;
  • Ensure efficient exchange of best practices and engagement of all actors through robust and transparent communication and awareness campaigns;
  • Replicate project results throughout Europe, contributing to the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI).
