COPILOT

COPILOT – “CO-creating the next generation platform of PILOTs and demo infrastructures, unlocking faster innovation and EU bioeconomy growth” is a Horizon Europe project rooted in the Pilots4U (P4U) project, which ended in 2019, of which it is to be considered a follow-up.

COPILOT aims to build a reference database for the European bioeconomy of open-access infrastructures that facilitate the expansion of innovations as well as to unite and interconnect the bioeconomy ecosystem (Infrastructures, Innovators and Facilitators) into one vibrant community that fosters growth.

In fact, open-access infrastructures are the most cost- and speed-effective for fostering bio-based industry-driven innovations in the market, since usually pilot and demo facilities are expensive and require a lot of technical knowledge in a short time frame.

The objectives of the project are:

  • Benefit from the experiences and results of past European projects (Pilots4U, ESFRI, and BioeconomyVenture)
  • Creating a platform tailored to users’ needs
  • Engage and stimulate participation in COPILOT activities through 3 Open Calls.
  • Provide key services, training, and matchmaking opportunities aimed at stimulating community collaboration to unlock clearer and faster access to Scale-up processes for Innovators and Facilitators in Europe
