POWER4BIO – emPOWERing regional stakeholders for realizing the full potential of european BIOeconomy is a Horizon Europe project ending in March 2021 with the aim of supporting European regions in the transition to the bioeconomy and a circular economy by providing them with tools, materials and guides to implement and optimize their national strategies to support this transition.
Goals achieved:
- Seventy-eight events were organized, including ten exchanges with nearly 850 participants, four training webinar series and the Bioeconomy Innovation Week conference;
- The catalog and an online database on bio-based solutions, and the Bioeconomy Strategy Accelerator Toolkit (BSAT) were developed to guide the implementation of regional bioeconomy strategies;
- Three countries have developed a bioeconomy strategy: Lviv (Ukraine) and Nitra (Slovakia) have used the smart specialization strategy as the basis for the bioeconomy strategy, and Mazovia (Poland) has developed a stand-alone bioeconomy strategy.
