TERRIFIC – NEXT GENERATION CIRCULAR BIOBASED FLAGSHIP PACKAGING: A CATALYST FOR THE GREEN TRANSITION, a project funded under the call HORIZON-JU-CBE-2023-IAFlag-03

The project, which started in June 2024, is coordinated by Novamont and aims to demonstrate at a technology maturity level (TRL8) leading-edge solutions based on biological and circular resources for packaging applications with improved properties, meeting superior performance requirements along the entire value chain while improving circularity and resource efficiency.

The project is one of four flagship projects funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE), the public-private partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), and SPRING is coordinating its work package on Communication and Dissemination.

The objectives of the project are:

  • Realizing a multifunctional biorefinery;
  • Produce 8 flagship solutions of compostable and recyclable biopolyesters and biomaterials with more than 95 percent renewable content;
  • Valuing by-products of agro-industrial supply chains.
